Where is my family and I from?
You can find me in various types of rocks in the Earth's crust. As well as in your body, such as in bones and teeth. You can find some of my family at your local grocery store, in the dairy section.

How was I discovered?
It is hard to say when my family and I were discovered, but we have been around and used for thousands of years. The Egyptians and Greeks made mortar and statues which contain us.

Who are my friends?
One of my friends is Chris Carbonate. When ever we hang out they call us Calcium Carbonate. We normally hang out at Home Depot in cement bags waiting to be bought, so we can be used at construction sites.

My other really good friend is Franky Fluoride We normally hang out in special lenses, in labs used to look at light. When we are together, everyone knows us by the name of Calcium Fluoride.

Who are my enemies?
Water is one of my main enemies. We do not get along along at all! When we are combined we make calcium hydroxide and hydrogen.

What are my physical properties?
I have a silver metallic color, but when exposed to air I become a grayish white color. (oxidized) When lit on fire, I turn a brilliant orange/ red color. I am not as dense as the other alkaline earth metals. (magnesium, beryllium, etc)

Daily Blog!
Monday:
Me and Chris Carbonate were chilling in a glass of milk today when someone drank us! We swam in his blood stream to where he had a broken bone and we helped fix it.

Tuesday:
We were still in the strangers body, when we swam into his stomach, he swallowed some hydrochloric acid! Whenever me and hydrochloric acid come in contact a chemical reaction occurs. Because of this, there is to much acid floating in his stomach. This caused the man a lot of discomfort and he threw Chris Carbonate and I up! We went flying across the room!

Wednesday:
Today I went swimming for the first time! It was a hot summer day. I took one step into the pool when the water got very angry and started splashing me. Around me, Hydrogen bubbles flew into the air. From now on I decided that I am going to avoid water because we don't get along, he has a bad temper.

Thursday:
Today in school, I learned that about 99 percent of me will be deposited into your bones and teeth! The rest of me will be distributed through your blood stream and will be used by your cells! You need me in your body, to survive! WOW!

Friday:
Finally its Friday! Today, after school I went with my dad to work, I helped him remove some oxygen, sulfur and carbon from alloys. (Which is a metal made by combining two or more metallic elements). It was pretty boring, but it was so rewarding at the end!

Saturday:
Today, my friend Vitamin D and I hung out, we are really good friends. We get along really well, because we help each other out. For example: Without Vitamin D it would be very hard to regulate the calcium that goes in and out of your bones.

Sunday:
I had a long week so Chris Carbonate and I, went bowling, then to the movies for the day! It was really fun! It was a great Sunday, and a great way to end the week!
